Dorothy Bruce Hunter, 32, of Raleigh, passed away on December 31, 2017 at her home.
Born on November 28, 1985, Dorothy was the daughter of Jackie Naylor and the late Dennis Hunter. She was a graduate of Clinton High School and attended Western Carolina University and Sampson Community College. Dorothy had a passion for the outdoors. She loved to snow ski, fish, ride horses and motorcycles. At the time of her death, Dorothy was an active cyclist with her dear friend, Ted Hopkins of Raleigh. She had a unique artistic talent as she loved to paint, draw and sew. She was a beautiful young lady with a huge personality, kind soul and had a smile that was contagious.
Dorothy is survived by her loving family: mother, Jackie Naylor of Raleigh; her grandmother, Gray Naylor of Clinton; sister, Shelvia Gray Lewis of Mt. Olive; special friend, Ted Hopkins of Raleigh; Stepfather, Rodney Lewis; her aunts: Terry Loggins (Andrew) and Teresa Hunter (Jerry); Uncles: Jim Naylor (Martha), Ronnie Hunter (Debbie) and Allen Hunter (Kay); and several cousins.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Jimmy Naylor.
A service to Celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018at 2pm at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, from 6-8 pm at Royal-Hall, and other times at the home of her grandmother, Gray Naylor, 296 Summertree Ct., Clinton.
