Mrs. Barbara Strickland Butler, 78 of 1245 Belvoir School Rd., passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Creech and Rev. Bryan Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born on January 26, 1946, in Sampson County, Barbara was the daughter of the late Clayton and Loleta Fann Strickland and the widow of William “Billy” Butler. She devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and attended as her health permitted. Barbara spent a devoted career as a Respiratory Therapist. She loved to show her love to her family and friends by cooking and sewing customized blankets and stockings.
Barbara is survived by two daughters: Teresa Honeycutt (Ronnie), and Billie Jo King (Scott) both of Clinton; three sisters: Carolyn Reynolds of Garner, Brenda Wainwright of Clinton, and Ann Tyndall (Jackie) of Clinton; brother, Glenn Strickland of Clinton; three grandchildren: Justin Honeycutt, Joshua Honeycutt, and Dalton King; two great-grandchildren: Haley and Graysin Honeycutt, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Butler; four sisters: Elizabeth Autry, Gray Pope, Margaret Fann, and Josephine Porter; and two brothers: Charles and Harold Strickland.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM in the Fellowship Hall of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and other times at her home.
