Mrs. Janice Dixon Brown, 76, of 4016 Forrestdale Dr., formerly of Clinton, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, July 5, 2016 with her family by her side.

Graveside Service will be held Saturday July 9, at 2:00 PM in the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Don Matthis officiating. 

Born in 1939 in Sampson County, Janice was the daughter of the late Leonard D. and Rosa Strickland Dixon. She was preceded in death by her brother, James F. Dixon and sister, Margaret Heck. She was a member of the Guess Road Baptist Church in Durham and a retired accounting clerk. 

She is survived by her husband, Francis M. Brown, Jr.; two daughters: Lisa Lundy and fiancé Buddy Borer, and Julie Butkus and husband Stuart, all of Durham; four grandchildren: Kyle Ishmael (Amber), Ryan Ishmael (Kelsey), Ashley Ishmael and Austin Lundy; and two great-grandchildren, Brantley and Avery Ishmael. We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to a very special family friend, Robin.

The family will receive friends at Clements Funeral Home, 1105 Broad St., Durham on Friday night from 6 til 8 PM and other times at the home in Durham. The family will also receive friends on Saturday, prior to the Graveside Service, from 12:30 til 1:45 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
