Mr. Lee Pridgen, Jr. 81, of 104 Fox Hollow Drive, died on September 26, 2016 at his home.

A private Graveside Service will be held on Thursday morning, September 29th at 11:00 AM in the Clinton Cemetery, with Dr. Jim Moran officiating. 

Born in 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina, Mr. Pridgen was the son of the late Lee and Grace Pridgen.  He graduated from Wake Forest University and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  He received his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1958, becoming the youngest Hospital Administrator.  He was the Assistant Administrator at Pittsfield General Hospital in Massachusetts, Augusta General Hospital in Augusta, Maine and Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Camden, Maine before becoming the Administrator at Sampson Regional Medical Center, where he proudly served over twenty years. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lynne Palmer Pridgen; his son, Richard Pridgen and wife, Wahida of Sydney, Australia; his two daughters: Leslie Garces and husband, Dr. David Garces of Wilmington; and Daphne Green and husband, Matthew of Southport; and one older sister, Parmelee Garrity of Lexington.  He was also blessed with five grandchildren: Whitney and Lauren Autry, Alexandra Tirado, and Erik and Alexis Pridgen; and two great-grandchildren, Kayden and Ella. 

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Dr. John Smith and to  the caregivers:  Chrystal, Sandra, Elrose and Willarise, and also to Liberty Home Health & Hospice, who provided comfort and care during his illness.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening, September 28th at Royal-Hall Funeral Home from 6-8 pm; and other times at his home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the SRMC Foundation, PO Box 260, Clinton, NC  28329.
