Kernersville

Ret. Line Sergeant Donald Lynn “Donny” Pridgen, 76, of Kernersville (formerly of Clinton) passed away on Sunday, September 11th 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, surrounded by family. 

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 15th at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 408 College Street, Clinton. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery with NC Highway Patrol Honors. 

Born at Langley Field AFB in Hampton, Virginia on July 19, 1940, Donny was the son of the late James Howard and Naomi McLean Pridgen.  He was a Retired Line Sergeant with the North Carolina Highway Patrol, member of Hiram Lodge #98 AF & AM, member of First Baptist Church of Clinton and an avid golfer. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and had a multitude of family and friends who were all very dear to him.

Donny is survived by his very devoted wife of 57 years, Sandra Hodge Pridgen; his son, Don Pridgen; his daughter, Karen Pridgen and fiancé, James Faircloth of Clinton; a sister, Vera P. Riley and husband, James of Charlotte and his brother, Jimmy Pridgen and wife, Suzanne of Medford, Oregon. He was also blessed with one granddaughter, Kristen King Reyes of Roseboro and four great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Jason, Benjamin and Elijah.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 PM in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church, and other times at their home in Clinton, located at 406 Walking Stick Trail.
