Mrs. Nina Shirley Squires Jones, 83, of 322 Wells Chapel Church Rd., passed away at her son’s home Saturday, July 12, 2025.

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 14, at 11:00AM at Harrells Cemetery with Rev. Michael Hall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Born in 1942 in Bladen County, Shirley was the daughter of the late Troy and Nina Sherman Squires and the widow of Kenneth Neil Jones, Sr. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Shirley was a seamstress for almost everyone in Harrells, who loved cooking for her family and gardening.

Shirley is survived by three sons: Kenneth Neil Jones, Jr and wife, Amanda of Clinton, Elwyn Doyle Jones of Clinton, and David S. Jones and wife, Angela of Dunn; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Raeford Squires of Florida; one sister-in-law: Elizabeth Houston of Raeford; one brother-in-law: Thomas Jones of Harrells and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Steven Troy Jones; daughter, Pamela Suzanne Jones; two sisters: Joyce Keen and Elizabeth Pittman; brother, Theodore Squires; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Dorey. brother-in-law, Billy Jones.

The family would like to thank Lois Parker, Anissa McNeil, and Kimberly Devone for their love and care to Mrs. Shirley.
