Mrs. Rosa Lee Byrd Bass, 95, of 1181 Reedsford Road went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 4, at 11:00 at Royal Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Church Cemetery.
Rosa was born on June 21, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Vaston Elliott and Bettie Mildred Hudson Byrd. Rosa was a member of the Rowan Baptist Church and worked at Tyndall’s Fish Market for many years.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Duell Bass; her son, Carl Bass Jr; daughters, Margaret Elaine Bass Bryant and Edith Yvonne Bass Wilson; grandson Carl Victor Carter; granddaughters Brenda Rose Carter and Penny Lee Smith Bradshaw; two brothers, David Byrd and Raymond Byrd; and sister, Pearl Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memory children, Betty Bass Smith (Charles) of Turkey, Larry Duell Bass (Gail) of Sanford, Carl Wayne Bass (Cathy) of Clinton and Sylvia Bass Pope (Patrick) of Clinton: 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; a brother, Elliott Byrd (Jane) of Virginia; sister-in-law Esther Byrd Shields and many nieces and nephews; three wonderful caregivers Alice Best, Sheree Peterson, and Wendy Melvin. She also received wonderful care at Mary-Gran and Liberty Hospice.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services beginning at 10:00 and other times at her home.
Flowers are welcomed, but memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund.
