Clinton
Mr. Ronald Lee Wheeler of Clinton passed away on January 31st, 2025, at Sampson Regional Medical Center with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was born June 25, 1947, in New Hanover County to Vera Yancey Wheeler Byrd and Kenneth Lee Wheeler. He was a graduate of Clinton High School and was drafted into the Army and also served in the National Guard. He was employed with Bass Air Conditioning Company for 52 years. He started out as warehouse assistant, then to warehouse manager, advancing to service manger, General Manger, and Vice President .
He is survived by the love of his life, of 55 years, Marie Royal Wheeler, one daughter Elizabeth Wheeler Jackson (Jason) of Dunn and two beautiful grandchildren, Connor Jackson and Bailey Jackson of which he loved dearly, and stepsister, Sandra Byrd Herring. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister Patricia Diane Hall.
He was a member of Colonial Heights Church, where he served as Sunday school Superintendent and was a lifetime Honorary Deacon, he always was helping out in everything the church was doing, He enjoyed the Bar-B-Q cookout and working on building the wheelchair ramps.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Royal Hall Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 2 from 4-6 PM at Royal Home Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Monday, February 3 at 3pm, at Colonial Heights Church with Pastor Tyler Jernigan and Pastor Obie Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Springvale Cemetery (Clinton Cemetery).
