Mr. Roby Mitchel Blakely, 60, of 470 Bucktown Rd., won his courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Sampson Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 25 at 2:00 PM at Clinton Community Church with Rev. Mark Fields officiating. A private Burial will follow at the Blakely Family Cemetery.
Born in 1963 in Virginia Beach, Va., Roby was the son of Carolyn Revis and the late Robert Irvin Blakely. He was a member of Clinton Community Church and loved attending with his wife, Brenda. Roby was employed by Good Year Rubber and Tire Co. of Fayetteville for over 37 years, where he was drawing close to his retirement. Roby was a handyman who loved the Lord and his family more than anything.
Roby is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife, Brenda Cashwell Blakely of almost 38 years; daughter, Kayla Blakely of the home; son, Roby M. Blakely, Jr of Fayetteville; two brothers: Don Blakely of Maryland and Mark Blakely of Florida; mother, Carolyn R. Blakely of Florida; two granddaughters: Karlie Blakely and Ellie May Blakely; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Roby was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Blakely.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 24 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home, and at other times at his home.
