Mr. Robert Hill “Bobby” Avery, Jr, 82, of 41 Sampson Airport Rd., passed away with his family by his side Saturday, September 28, 2024, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 3, at 6:00 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 4, at 11:00 AM in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born on February 24, 1942, in Sampson County, Bobby was the son of the late Robert Hill Avery, Sr and Mary Lee Knowles Avery. He was a Textile Employee with forty-seven years of service until his retirement. After he retired, Bobby worked for Clean-Rite Services for Ten Years. He was a member of Colonial Heights Church and attended while his health permitted. Bobby loved to entertain, from grilling to dancing and listening to music were all his passion. He also loved spending time at White Lake and the mountains.

Robert is survived by his wife, Betty Bryant Avery of the home; two sons: Robert Adam Lynn Avery (Angela) and Terry Lee Avery (Sherry) both of Clinton; two daughters: Sandy Avery Spell of White Lake and Brenda Lee McMillan (Benny) of Clinton; five grandchildren: Nina Avery (Kenneth), Dana Avery (Eric), Miranda Spell (Trey), Victoria Lee and Kristen Sink (Adam); a special nephew, Ricky Tyndall; three great-grandchildren: Brooke House, Parker Sink, and Madison Lee; two step-sons: Walter Eugene Hicks (April) of Clinton, and Charles Albert Hicks (Jenna) of Texas; five step-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his two sisters: Edna Avery Powell, and Joann Avery Owens.

The family will receive friends following the services on Thursday evening and at other times at his daughter Brenda’s home, 60 Avery Lane, Clinton NC.
