Clinton
Retired Sergeant Carlton Collins Albritton, Sr, 85, of Carolina Ave., passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at his home with the ones he loved by his side.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 19, at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 408 College St., with Dr. Ray Ammons and Rev. Clay Carter officiating. Burial with Highway Patrol honors and Masonic Rites will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born on September 9, 1939, in Greene County, Carlton was the son of the late Ernest Franklin and Bessie Mae Taylor Albritton. He was a member of First Baptist Church and attended as his health permitted. He was a member of the Hiram Lodge #98 AF & AM. Carlton spent his career devoted to public safety by serving in the North Carolina State Highway Patrol where he advanced and became a Sergeant until his retirement. He continued his career as a private investigator for Johnson, Parsons and Hobson Law Firm and served for over 20 years with the Clinton Fire Department.
Carlton is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia Bennett “Pat” Albritton of Clinton; daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Albritton Raynor, and husband, George of Clinton; son, Carlton Collins “Yogie” Albritton, Jr and wife, Kathy of Wilmington; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Carlton was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Lassiter, and brother, Buddy Albritton.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services beginning at 1:00 PM in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church and other times at the home.
