Mrs. Phyllis Ann Phillips Burkes, 78, of 188 Kay Rd., passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 22 at 11:00 AM at Clinton Family Worship Center, 103 Raiford St., with Rev. Lynn Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 21 from 6-8 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home, 301 McKoy St., Clinton.
Born in 1944 in Cumberland County, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Landrum and Juanita Davidson Phillips and the widow of the late Paul Stanley Burkes. Phyllis loved and was a member of Clinton Family Worship Center where she was active many years ago, while her health permitted. She loved her family unconditionally and would do anything for anyone in need.
Phyllis is survived by two daughters: Michelle Martin, and Melissa Young both of Franklinton, NC; son, Mark Wiggins (Diana Hicks) of Clinton; four grandsons: Patrick Martin, Brandon Martin, Joshua Martin, and Hunter Young (Meredith); two brothers: Larry Phillips (Patricia) of Fayetteville, NC., and Steve Phillips (Betty) of New Jersey.
In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, Phyllis was preceded in death by son, Karl Wiggins, and brother, Michael Phillips.
