Penelope "Penny" Griffin-Cashwell Obituary

Penelope (Penny) Griffin-Cashwell, 48, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at home.

Penny was a native of Clinton. She was the daughter of the late Jack Wayne Griffin.  She is survived by her mother, Betty Lou Griffin; two sisters Cheryle Griffin (Johnny Newton) Roseboro, Melanie Young of Clinton; nephews Aaron Griffin (Marissa) Bogart, Ga, Alex Gibson (Megan) Missouri; niece, Amber Young of Wallace.

Penny spent many years in retail management before making a career change in 2012. She graduated from Methodist University with a B.S. in Middle School Education. Penny was currently teaching at Westover High School in Fayetteville. Penny was an accomplished teacher and had many colleagues and parents who regarded her as a true professional, always putting her student’s needs as her top priority. The simplest pleasures in life brought immense joy to Penny.  During school breaks, Penny found herself at home on a beach with her toes in the sand. Her bright bold personality was unmatched and contagious to everyone she met.
