Clinton
Mrs. Notre Eileen Yarborough, 95 of 103 Britt St., passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 408 College St., with Dr. Ray Ammons officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born on February 21, 1927, in Sampson County, Notre was the daughter of the late Walter Stanford and Mattie Matthews Pusey and the widow of Jesse Graham Yarborough, Sr. Notre spent most of her career with Clinton City Schools as their Secretary, and also with the Clinton City Tax office for fourteen years. Notre was a member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years and took care of the nursery for over thirty years. Notre was a member of the Golden Age Fun Club, where they gathered together and enjoyed being the “Golden Age.” She truly loved her church family and attended as long as her health permitted. She will be missed by everyone who knew her because to know her, was to love her.
Notre is survived by three daughters: Pam Smith (Jim) of Clinton, Cindy Bass (Tommy) of Clinton, and Sandy Covington of Myrtle Beach; three sons: Allan Grider (Lynn) of Norwood, NC., Wayne Yarborough (Mellissa) of St. Pete Beach, FL., and Jesse Yarborough, Jr., (Katrina) of Fernandina Beach; son-in-law, Ray Harrison of Wilmington; 17 grandchildren: Michelle Grider, Walt Grider, Marla Rae Willis, Marcus Willis (Lori), Justin Willis (Stacey), Bobby Jones (Lupe), Susie Jones Avery, Missy Kelly, Tammy Jones, Michael Grider, Cory Bass (Lisa), Jessica Parrish (Brent), Jesse Harrison, Sarah Yarborough, Mary-Bennett Yarborough, Ali Yarborough Daniels (Greyson), Amanda Lee; 28 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and last but not least, grand pet, Boo Covington.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jesse, Notre was preceded in death by three daughters: Terry Willis Penny, Winifred Y. Harrison, and Freda McGee; son, Charles Grider; two grandsons: Robbie Bass and Doug Jones; granddaughter, Melanie Owen; brother-in-law, Grant Grider, son-in-law, Rocky Covington, and her Fiance, John Windle (Father of Debbie and Rod Carney); three sisters: Joyce Romine (Harold), Lib Meier (Whitey), and Peggy Reynolds (Ted).
The family will receive friends on Thursday, one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, and other times at her home.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Candace Taylor (great-granddaughter) and Missy Kelly (granddaughter).
