Ms. Leslie DuBose Obituary

Ms. Leslie DuBose, 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 23, 1955, in Roseboro, North Carolina, Leslie was the youngest daughter of the late Natalie Hudson DuBose and Charles Holden "Jack" DuBose, Sr.

Leslie attended Harrells Christian Academy and graduated from Vardell Hall and Louisburg Junior College. Leslie worked for First Citizens Bank until she retired in 2017. She was dedicated to her profession and highly respected by her coworkers and friends. She was involved with the Garner Relay for Life for numerous years as a co-captain for the "Paws for the Cause, Putting a Lid on Cancer" team. And she was a co-founder of the nonprofit North Carolina Community of Hearts and Homes "NCCHH" with a vision of a tiny home community to lift up the homeless. Those who knew her best knew she had a deep love of animals, and she always had a dog by her side. She was a caring and loving aunt, amazing sister and daughter. She was well-loved by her family and friends.

Leslie is survived by her sister, Deborah DuBose Cone of Columbia, South Carolina; brother, Charles Holden DuBose, Jr. and wife, Helen of Clinton; her niece: Natalie DuBose Langley, four nephews: Alex Monsky, Eric Monsky, Bill Hussey, and Holden DuBose; and her great-nieces and nephews: Cannon Langley, Elle Langley, William Hussey, Hudson Hussey, Jack DuBose, and Emma DuBose. She was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly DuBose Monsky.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 110 West Main Street, Clinton, North Carolina. A private family burial service will be held at the George Hi Plantation.

In keeping with Leslie's spirit of her love of animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to SPCA of Wake County, 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27603.
