Albert Lawrence “Larry” Carter, 77, of Clinton passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at at 3:00 pm Mintz Baptist Church of Roseboro, with Dr. Robert Hunter and Dr. John McBride officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2pm, in the church sanctuary, and other times at his home.
Born on March 10, 1944 in Sampson County, Larry was the son of the late Maylon Hansel and Elizabeth Adams Carter. After completing high school, Larry married the love of his life, Betty Christine Autry Carter and wherever you saw one, you saw the other. Together, they raised two wonderful children and were faithful members of Mintz Baptist Church of Roseboro. Larry and Betty owned and operated Larry’s Distributing and when they sold the business in 2009 he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, often being on the water in his boat fishing. Larry loved people and always had a joke to tell and will truly be missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Carter Jones.
Larry is survived by his wife, Betty Christine Autry Carter of the home; daughter, Betty Lynn Conyers and husband, John of Youngsville; his son, Michael Lawrence Carter of Clinton; their three grandchildren: John Conyers IV, Lauren Conyers and Brandon Carter and their dear family friend, Delorice Owens of Clinton. Larry was taken from this world way too soon, but his legacy of love will live on through his family.
Royal-Hall is honored to serve the Carter family.
