Mr. Harold Woodall Obituary

Harold Woodall, 86, of Clinton, passed away from COVID-19 Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Born on September 26, 1934 in Johnston County, NC, Harold was the son of the late William and Irene Morgan Woodall. He was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Woodall, and two brothers, Wade and Charles Woodall.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie Trott Woodall; two daughters, Pamela W. Bass and her husband, William, of Tucson, AZ and Allyson W. Lauder and her husband, George, of Rising Sun, MD; sister, Faye Green of Georgetown, KY; brother, Jim Woodall and his wife Jo Ann of Raleigh, NC; and three grandchildren - Julie Bass, Stewart Bass and Brandy Lauder.

Harold joined the Air Force at the age of 17. A graduate of Atlantic Christian College, he taught physical education and coached football at Selma High School, where he met his wife, Marjorie. He spent the majority of his career as a Human Resource Manager for Burlington Industries, Beaunit and Hamilton Beach.

Harold moved his family to Clinton in 1973. He was active in his community serving as a volunteer firefighter for the Clinton Fire Department for 20 years and as a member of the Clinton City School Board for 11 years. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Clinton Lions Club, and enjoyed volunteering with Friends of the Sampson County Waterways. He was an avid golfer and competitive shooter. He proudly earned the prestigious Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge in 1984 and was the NC State Pistol Champion in 1990.

Once retired, he and Marjorie enjoyed RVing across the US, and later in his life, his days were made brighter by gathering with his buddies for morning coffee.

A memorial service to celebrate Harold’s life will be held at a later date when friends and family can gather safely and will be announced by Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
