Mrs. Melvia Doris Parker Sloan, 89 of 6483 Pine Ridge Rd. died at Sampson Regional Medical Center Tuesday August 5, 2025.

A graveside service will be held Saturday August 9, 2025, at 2:00 P M at the Faison Cemetery with Dr. Ron Bryant officiating.

Born on October 20, 1935, in Sampson County, Melvia was the daughter of the late Luther Parker and Vera McClenny Parker. She was a member of the Turkey Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald David Sloan. Daughter, Rhonda Bowman of Faison. Son, James David Sloan of Canal Winchester, Ohio. Seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Josephine Crumpler, Flonnie Boyette and Madline Shaw. Brother, David Parker.

The family will receive friends following the graveside services at the Cemetery.
