Mrs. Martha Moon Dunn, 86 of 125 Colonial Drive, passed away at Rex Hospital in Raleigh on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Born on August 17, 1936 in Grayson, Georgia, Martha was the daughter of the late Pryor and Gladys Braselton Moon. She was a member of Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church and a retired Teacher’s Assistant at Kerr Elementary School. She enjoyed her years working at the school, and was very passionate about her job. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Martha was always a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clayton W. Dunn; two daughters: Michelle Dunn and Wanda Weeks of Clinton; three grandchildren: Adam Weeks of Asheville, Garrett Weeks of Beaufort, NC, Jenna Williams and husband, Josh of Wilmington; two great-grandsons: Nolan Weeks and Luke Williams; and one brother, Pryor Moon, Jr. of Pinehurst.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Williamson; four sisters: Sadie Mays, Clarice Smith, Beryl Bennett, Lee Worsham and two brothers: Royce Moon and Tony Moon.
A private graveside service will be held Sunday, September 24th 2022, with Dr. Bill Hawkins officiating.
