Marilyn "Polly" (Vann) McKnight

Marilyn Pauline Vann McKnight, “Polly”, 93, died Sunday, October 22, 2023.  She was born in Clinton, NC, daughter of Fonnie and Pauline Vann.  Raised in Clinton, NC.  Attended Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.  Married William Ward Calhoun in l951, later divorced and married William Conrad McKnight in 1976.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Jean Calhoun of Fuquay Varina, NC, and Ann Calhoun Wren and her husband, Tom, of Hayes, VA; sons, John Jennings Calhoun and wife, Catherine Morris of Chapel Hill, NC, and Vann Clinton Calhoun of Belton, TX; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah Wise and Mary Davis Thomas; six brothers, Fonnie Jefferson Vann, Jr., Robert Vann, Joseph Vann, James Vann, Albert Vann, and Thomas Vann.

Polly will be remembered for her laughter and her love of Jesus.  She will be missed.
