Mrs. Marie Barefoot Strickland, 79, of 91 Avery Lane, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30 at 2:00 PM at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 1481 Fleet Cooper Rd., Roseboro, with Pastor John Hobbs and Pastor Bryan Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
Born in 1946 in Harnett County, Marie was the daughter of the late Minson and Mattie Bass Barefoot and the widow of the late Harold V. Strickland. Marie was a seamstress and was known for her ability to make mends! She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and was a loving spouse, mother, grandma and sister and will be truly missed.
Marie is survived by two daughters: Lisa Ezzell and Sheila Kay McLamb both of Clinton; her granddaughter, Kayla Jordan; sister, Lora Mae Westbrook of Newton Grove; and many nieces and nephews and last but not least, her furbaby, Bengal.
In addition to her parents and husband, Harold, Marie was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Lee Penny “Buck”.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home and other times at her home.
