Mrs. Marie Kersey Norris, 80, of Stewart Ave., passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 24, at 2:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born on July 19, 1945, in Sampson County, Marie was the daughter of the late William Carl and Mary Ann Turner Kersey and the widow of Larry Edward Norris. Marie was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and considered her church family as her own. Her faith guided her life and brought her comfort and strength. Marie was a proud mother, grandmother and homemaker whose kindness and presence will be greatly missed.
Marie is survived by her son, Brian Norris (April) of Raleigh; daughter, Diane Burchette of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Cindi Norris of Clinton; three grandchildren: Jameson Burchette, Jenna Burchette and Ian Norris; one great-grandchild, Harley Trogdon; sister, Brenda Jackson (Willie) of Clinton; and three brothers: Douglas Kersey (Mary) of Garland, Elton Kersey of Roseboro, and Tony Kersey of Knoxville, TN.
In addition to her parents and husband, Larry, Marie was preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward Norris.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday in the church sanctuary beginning at 1:00 PM.
