Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Parsons King, 93 of Clinton, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
She was born on August 19, 1927 to the late Henry and Allie Parsons. She married the love of her life, the late Paul King, on December 28, 1947 and they were married for sixty years. She was a faithful member of Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. In addition to working side by side with her husband on their farm, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all she met. She was a great cook and well known for her chocolate cakes. Her door was always open and there was always an extra plate at her dinner table. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and shared her strong faith with everyone. She was the perfect example of one who led a Christian life every day. Mrs. Margaret made a lasting impact on everyone she knew, and her legacy of love will live on through her family, who adored her.
She is survived by her children: Gail Holland and husband, Larry of Newton Grove; John Paul King and wife, Cathy of Clinton; Joe King and wife, Kathy of Fayetteville and Mary Avery of the home. She was also blessed with six grandchildren: Robert Holland, Holly King, Carol King, Dana Avery, Allen Bass and Jim Bass; nine great-grandchildren: Kassy Holland, Landon Holland, Brooke House, Brena Bass, Synda Bass, Jake Bass, Justin Bass, Lexie Kornegy and Justin Kornegy; and her fur babies, Bell and Hoss. She also left behind numerous nieces and nephews and many others who considered her their adopted mother.
In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers: James Henry Parsons and Jesse Parsons; her sisters, Annie Mae Watkins, Alma Stanley and Edna Smith; and a grandson, Joseph DeLeon King.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, May 22 at 10:00 am at Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church, 2330 Keener Rd., with Rev. C.H. Lee, Rev. David Willis and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the King Family Cemetery on Share Cake Rd. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, May 21st from 6-8 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
