Mrs. Lois Lee Hunter Hawkins, 86, of Clinton., passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 13 at 1:00 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
Born on September 19, 1937 in Harnett County, Lois was the daughter of the late Naylor and Eva Autry Lee and the widow of Frank Hunter and in later years, George Jimmy Hawkins. She was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church and was a Dietician for Mary Gran Nursing Center until her retirement.
Lois is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Ann Warren of Clinton; two sons: Rodney Hunter (Dora), and J.F. Hunter (Kim) both of Faison; two sisters: Sylvia Faircloth(Herman) of Eastover, and Lola Holloway of Clayton; one brother, William C. Lee of Dunn; three step-sons: Paul Hawkins of Clinton, David Hawkins of Clinton, and Darryl Hawkins of Jacksonville; and nine grandchildren. Christy Marshburn, Jamie Butler (Jonathan), Amanda Thornton, Melissa Knowles, Nicole Bass (Kevin), Jason Evans, Jessica Warren, Marlana Hunter, and Bradley Hunter. Mrs Lois had 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was also fortunate enough to have 15 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, Lois was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charlie, Harley, Joe Lee. A son-in-law, J.W. Warren; step-son, George Wilton Hawkins; and Great grandson, Grant Joyner.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, February 12 from 6 until 8 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Rodney and Dora Hunter, 3910 N. McCullen Rd. Faison, NC. 28341
