Mrs. Lois Gray Moore Hunter, 82 of 2394 Browns Church Rd., died at her home Saturday, December 30, 2023, with her family by her side.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Grandview Memorial Park with the Rev. Robbie Gilbert officiating.
Born in 1941 in Duplin County, Lois was the daughter of the late Milton and Rosia Odom Moore. She was a member of the Victory Community Church, the operator of a daycare center for over 20 years, and was known as Mama Lois. She loved pineapple, cross stitch, and word search. Her pride and joy were teaching and caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Jean Willis, and husband, Marcus of Clinton. Two sons, Alton Glenn Hunter, and Russell Wayne Hunter both of Clinton. Four grandchildren, Jessica Ryan Chavez and husband, Jose, William Alton Hunter and wife, Grace, Charlie Lorray Knowles, and Elizabeth Gray Knowles. Three great-grandchildren, Adalynn Rose Hunter, Colton Knox Hunter, and Joselyn Mae Chavez.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at her home.
