Lois Marie Fulghum Denny, 84, of 1015 Lloyd Street, passed away at Rolling Ridge Assisted Living of Newton Grove on Monday, April 6, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church, on Friday, April 10, at 1:00 PM with the Rev. William Hawkins officiating. A private burial will be held prior to the service on Friday at the Roseboro Cemetery.
Born in 1941 in Wilson County, Lois was the daughter of the late Willie Lester and Gladys Deans Fulghum. She was a retired Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs with Sampson Community College.
Lois is survived by two daughters: Deanna Denny Weaver (Melvin Harris) of Clinton and Joy Denny Dodson (James Allen) of Dunn; and three grandchildren: Logan James Dodson, Will Thomas Dodson and Holly Marie Weaver; one sister, Nancy Finch (Rudy) of Wilson; a sister-in-law, Martha Denny Jeter of Wilmington, and a neice, Melicent Jeter of Wilmington.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Denny, III (Jack); and a brother, Thomas Fulghum.
The family will receive friends following the service on Friday in the church fellowship hall.
