Mrs. Lois Jennette Blackman, 88, of 293 Junious Lucas Rd., passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, at 2:00 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Beard officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery.
Born on August 14, 1935, in Wayne County, Lois was the daughter of the late Joseph B. Jennette and Emma King Jennette and the widow of Leslie Blackman, Jr. She earned her master's degree from ECU in the 1950s. Lois took pride in education and seeing others excel which led her to her career in education at Clinton High School until her retirement. She was an avid reader and loved history and political science.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Martha Blackman-Hughes, and husband, John of Apex, and many cousins and special friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her son, Leslie Blackman, III, sister, Imogene Price, and brother, B.J. Jennette.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, January 10, from 6 until 8 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel.
