Leola Fleury Boone, 68, of 1718 Cartertown Road, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, surrounded by friends and family.
A memorial service with Nurses Honor Guard honors will be held Saturday, May 2, at 11:00 AM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel, 301 McKoy St., Clinton with Dr. Christopher Webb officiating.
Leola was born October, 20, 1957, and was the daughter of the late Alice Covert and Charles Edward “Chuck” Fleury. She was also the widow of Robert Steve Boone. Leola was a proud retired registered nurse, spending years caring for others. That same compassion was extended to animals, where she found great joy in the love and companionship of her pets. She loved spending time outdoors planting flowers, watching the birds, relaxing and spending time with friends and family on her back porch.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Christopher Pope and his wife, Katie of Madison, Wisconsin and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and former colleagues.
The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at Leola’s home beginning at 12:00.
