Kimberley McLamb Obituary

Spivey’s Corner

Ms. Kimberley Carol McLamb, 53, of 8300 Newton Grove Hwy., Dunn, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 21, at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Rev. Matthew Creech officiating. A Private Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in 1971 in Sampson County, Kimberley was the daughter of Louise Darden McLamb and the late Thomas Elwood McLamb. Kim attended Sampson County Schools until 1992.   During her adult years, she participated in Sampson County ADVP, Sampson Community College ACE program, and A Caring Heart.  She loved participating in these programs and made many lifelong friends as a result of her time there. Most recently, her caregivers became extended family to Kim and she adored each of them for the gifts they shared with her and their many hours spent together.

People who didn’t know her well might have viewed Kim as a person with special needs,  but her family and friends know that instead, Kim was a remarkably special person.  She could light up any room with her winning smile and absolutely loved unconditionally.  You knew when she hugged you it was genuine.  The simple pleasures of her life were delightful to Kim.  McDonald’s Happy Meals, trips to the market, golf cart rides, dancing to the oldies, and spending time with family and special friends meant the whole wide world to her. Holidays, birthdays, weddings, and special occasions took on special meaning when Kim was involved because she celebrated with such joy.  She will be missed by all and lovingly remembered as the essence of pure innocent love.

Kimberley is survived by her mother, Louise Darden McLamb; brother, Woody McLamb, and wife, Sheree of Newton Grove; three sisters: Joy McLamb Spell, and husband, Johnnie of Autryville, Donna McLamb of Wilmington, and Lori McLamb Wagner, and husband, Jim of Greenville, NC; a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

The family will receive friends prior to the services on Saturday at the church, beginning at 1:00 PM, and at other times at their home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kimberley’s memory to Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11341 N US421 Clinton, NC 28328.
