Mr. Kenneth Carey Burchette, 80, of 638 Harmony Church Rd., passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 3 at 2:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Hall and Rev. Randy Burchette officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Born in 1944 in Robeson County, Kenneth was the son of the late James Irden and Sidney Thompson Burchette. Kenneth had a passion for music and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and attended as his health permitted. He was a former employee with Barnhill Contracting Company and the Department of Transportation.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Carol Strickland Burchette of the home; daughter, Christi Lynn Blackburn (Jay) of Clinton; three sons: Kenneth DeWayne Burchette (Brenda) of Roseboro, Randy Lee Burchette (Cindi) of Clinton, and James Robert Burchette of Autryville; step-daughter, Karen Daughtry of Tennessee; eight grandchildren: Christina Jones (James), Jillian McLamb (Trey), Jared Burchette, Crystal Sessoms (Phillip), Jameson Burchette, Jenna Burchette, Katelyn Fox (Curtis), and Tyler Blackburn (Rickilyn); 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Debra Sayers, Joyce Kay Davis of Lumberton, and Joann Ivey of Broadridge; and brother, David Burchette of Lexington.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two brothers: Frank and Ronald Burchette.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 PM at the Church and other times at their home.
