Joyce Marilyn Batts Herring, 82, of Kimberly Drive, passed away on Thursday morning, June 9, 2022 at her home.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday Morning June 11th at 11:00 am in the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Flowers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Cemetery.
Joyce was born on January 23, 1940 in Pollock, NC to the late Martin and Maggie Bell Batts. She was the widow to Mr. Edgar Chestnutt “E.C.” Herring and a retired cashier with Clinton City Schools. While her health allowed, she loved to travel, read her Bible, go to the beach and spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Debra Norris and husband, Chad of Raleigh, Beth Rackley of Clinton; sister, Judie Clark of Knightdale; brother, Ronnie Batts of Spivey’s Corner; five grandchildren: Jamie and Heather Rackely; Evan, Kameron and Austin Knight; and four great-grandchildren: Kelsi Rackley, Cooper, Case and Rafe Knight.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Simmons and one brother, Elton Batts.
