Mr. Jimmy Raymond Lane, 79, of 615 John Cannady Lane, passed away Tuesday, December 16, at his home with his loving caretaker by his side, Helen Hayes.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, December 18, at 11:00am at Roseboro Cemetery with Rev. John Hobbs and Chad Pope officiating.
Born in 1946 in Sampson County, Jimmy was the son of the late Clyde and Bertha Turner Lane. Jimmy attended Elizabeth Baptist Church. He retired from the Cumberland County School System as an electrician. After his retirement, he continued to work as an electrician helping his friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed helping Chad and Bill Pope on the farm and spending time with his special little girls, Kaydence and Ryleigh.
Jimmy is survived by a daughter, Darlene Lane Gaddy of Alabama, step-daughter, Teresa Faircloth of Roseboro; three sisters: Imogene King of Ingold, Lela Jordan of Clinton and Kay Rose of Clinton; one brother: Clyde Junior Lane of Lillington and a grandchild, Gary Wayne Ewing.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lee Watson Lane; his son, Glenn Wayne Lane; two sisters: Ernestine Lane Hall and Martha L. Daughtry; and a brother, Willie C. Lane.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
