Mr. Jesse Ray Preddy, 80, of Midway Elementary School Rd., Dunn, passed away on Monday evening, September 13, 2021 at Harnett Woods Nursing & Rehab Center in Dunn.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021 in the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Preddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary PFWB Church Cemetery located in Salemburg. 

Born on August 17, 1941 in Franklin County, Jesse was the son of the late Henry Preddy and Ethel Spell Preddy. He worked in the weave room at Swift Textiles/Erwin Mill until retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed farming and cutting/baling hay. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Jesse loved Mountain Dew and chocolate, especially Snickers, Milky Way and Reeses. If you asked him what his plans were each day, he would respond "I'm going to have me a Jesse day and hold down this recliner".  He was quite a character and will be greatly missed. 

He is survived by his son, Michael Ray Preddy and wife, Donna of Erwin; sisters: Faye Melvin of Hope Mills, Ilena Ezzell of Clinton, Sylvia Wilson and husband, Bobby of Salemburg; one brother, MacDonald Preddy and wife, Louise of Clinton; two grandchildren: Alisha Lynn Tart and husband, Tim and Michael Ray Preddy, Jr. and wife, Heather.  He was also blessed with a great-grandson, Noah Ryan Tart and great-granddaughter, Olivia Tart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two of his brothers: James Preddy and Henry Preddy.

Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 pm, at Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
