Lona “Jeannette” Fox, 66, formerly of Clinton, passed away on April 4, 2021 at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville, NC with her family by her side.
Born on December 30, 1954 in Sampson County, Jeannette was the daughter of the late Floyd and Ethel Matthis Japarks. She grew up in Clinton and lived in the area with her husband, Durwood, until 1974 when they moved to Alabama, eventually returning to her hometown in 2002, staying in the area until the Fall of last year, when they moved to the mountains. She was a homemaker and also owned a daycare for the majority of her life. Jeannette loved children and her family more than anything. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Durwood Fox; daughter, Nikki Fox of Clinton; brothers: Bobby Dill of Herring and Anthony Japarks of Randleman; four grandchildren: Chase Fox, Brooklyn Morin, Cameron Morin and Jaqueline Journey; and also her fur-baby – her dog, “Levi”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Faircloth and a brother, Buddy Japarks.
A Graveside Service for Jeannette will be held on Thursday, April 8th at 11:00 am at the Springvale Section of Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Byron Murray officiating.
