Jeanne Pope Hobbs, 91, of 504 Pineview Rd., passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare of Wilmington.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 15 at 3 PM at First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 408 College St., with Dr. Ray Ammons, Father Eric Grubb, and Rev. E.C. Mattocks officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery.

Born on April 19, 1933, in Sampson County, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Charles Lee and Florence Melson Pope and was the widow of Leslie Stewart Hobbs, Sr. Jeanne was a member of First Baptist Church and attended while her health permitted. She taught at Kerr School as an assistant Kindergarten Teacher. Her favorite thing was being a mother to her dear children and a Mimi to her grand and great-grandchildren.

Jeanne is survived by two daughters: Kim Hobbs Lanier, and husband, Mike of Clinton, and LeeAnn Hobbs Weaver of Leland, NC.; son, Dr. L. Stewart Hobbs, Jr, and wife, Dr. Ann Lambros of Oak Island NC; seven grandchildren: Caitlin Weaver (Brian), Colin Weaver (Brandon), Annie Weaver and Olivia Weaver (Mitch), Kenan Lanier (Mercedes) and Hayden Lanier (Allison), and Adrienne Loffredo (Josh); three great-grandchildren: Dru and Kali Loffredo, and Grayson Lanier.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by her infant brother, Glenn Elwood Pope, and brother, Charles Edwin Pope.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Sunday beginning at 2:00 PM in the family worship center of First Baptist Church, and other times at her home.
