Mrs. Jean Irene Bass Martin, 86, of 3259 Union School Rd., passed away Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, at Mary-Gran Nursing Center

.Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 20, at 11:00 AM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born on January 9, 1938, in Sampson County,  Jean was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Bass and Maggie Simmons Bass. She was in Sales with Carolina Mills and a member of Holly Grove Presbyterian Church.

Jean is survived by two sons: Gary Martin of Four Oaks, and Jeff Martin (Lori) of Clinton; one sister, Nellie Denton (Lenwood) of Clinton; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and son-in-law, Mark Daughtry.In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee “Babe” Martin; daughter, Lynn Daughtry; three brothers: Jack Bass, Jimmy Bass, and Glennwood “Coty” Bass; two sisters: Pauline Lee and Edna  “Tennie” Simmons.
