Mr. James Robert “Bob” House, II, 69, of Cutchin Street, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray Ammons officiating. A private burial will follow the service, in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born on August 7, 1954 in Sampson County, Bob was the son of the late Lennie Iredell House and Willa Dean Dixon House. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and a retired auto mechanic and machinist. However, Bob’s passion from an early age was music. At age eight he taught himself to play guitar, inspired by his love of rock and roll. By age fourteen he was already in a band, and it continued from there, playing in numerous bands his entire life. Bob also combined his talents and love of music to build several incredible guitars from scratch, using wood from local trees. He had a heart of gold and was such a kind soul. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebekah Gordon and husband, Brad of Sneads Ferry; Son, James Robert “Jamie” House, III of Clinton; Sister, Beverly H. Traywick of Southern Pines; two grandchildren, Gregory and Ella Gordon; his Aunt, Julia Dixon Johnson of Benson and cousin, Wendy Thornton.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 pm, at the funeral home.
Royal-Hall is honored to serve the House family.
