James Delbon Wheeler III

James Delbon Wheeler III, 47, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Wake Medical Center of Raleigh.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate James’ life will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 408 College St., with Dr. Ray Ammons officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM.

Born in Randolph, Vermont, James was the son of James Delbon Wheeler, Jr. and the late Fay Sawyer Wheeler. James loved life, his family, and his church family. He spent many hours making sure the audio and video were perfect at First Methodist Church and more recently at First Baptist Church.  He was also active in the soup kitchen at First Baptist Church. James loved to hike, camp, and fish, and also enjoyed woodworking. James will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. 

James is survived by his wife, Kelly Schreck Wheeler; two daughters: Avigail Wheeler and Ashley Wheeler both of Vermont; two sons: Logan Wheeler and Matthew Wheeler of Clinton; Dad, James Wheeler, Jr. and stepmom, Midge;  sister, Gidget Lyon; four brothers: E.J. Wheeler, Scott Gaudette, Yancy Lyon, and Rocky Gaudette all of Vermont.
