Mr. James Elbert Johnson 72, of 2179 Register Sutton Rd. died at Poplar Grove in Burgaw Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Peterson Cemetery in Harrells with Rev. Nelson Hatcher officiating.

Born in 1951 in Sampson County, James was the son of the late Tommy Pearson and Jenny Annielou Mott Johnson. He was a retired employee with Acultel. He loved listening to Blue Grass Gospel Music and going fishing.

He is survived by his brother, William Earl Johnson, and wife, Mary of Chinquapin. His sister, Judy Tyndall, and husband, Larry of Clinton. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends following the services at the Cemetery.
