Mr. James Anthony Anderson, 69, of Hope Mills passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. 

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held privately by the family. 

Born on February 4, 1955, in Robeson County, James was the son of the late Everett Leverne Anderson and Treva Rogers Taylor. James was a member of Garland Baptist Church and gave his life to Christ at a very young age.  He spent his working years as a truck driver.  James was an exceptional athlete in high school, playing multiple sports, and played baseball at Pembroke State University (UNCP).  James was an avid fan of North Carolina Tarheel sports, NASCAR, and the New York Yankees.  James enjoyed family, friends, and watching various sporting events.

James is survived by daughter, Brittany Foy (Mandez) of Fayetteville; two sons: James A. Anderson, Jr (Dusty) of Greenwood, SC, and Daniel Anderson of Goldsboro; sister, Sandra Stallings (Larry) of Rocky Mount; two brothers:  Kenneth L. Anderson (Ruthanne) of Wichita, KS, and Tim Anderson (Janet) of Clinton; granddaughter Mirabelle Anderson, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Joan Marie Anderson.
