Obituary

Ingrid Moertl, 62, of Seven Springs, passed away at her home on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Ingrid, born on September 14, 1960, in Nebraska, was the daughter of the late Martin and Ludmilla Huber Moertl.  She is survived by her sister, Brigitte Otto (Mark) of Omaha, Nebraska; her loving partner, Jenifer Robin Harrell of Clinton; brother, Kurt Moertl of Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews whom she adored.

She was a retired Lt. Colonel in the United States Army and served with honor and pride for over twenty years.  She served in Iraq for ten of those years, receiving several ribbons, awards and medals for her service over the years. She was very respected by her peers and completed her service in the Army in Missouri. After retirement, she moved to North Carolina where she was most recently the Safety Director for Sara Lee.  She had many hobbies and loved to learn new things, her latest being woodworking. If Ingrid set her mind to it, she could do it and always excelled at it. Ingrid lived a life with a wealth of friends. Her generosity to one and all was endless. Planning special trips with her family was a delight to her. She loved her nieces and nephews and forged great bonds with them along with many friends throughout her life.  No matter where she went or lived, she was loved and will be missed by all. Her RV in the sky will take her places now.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joseph Dionne officiating.  A visitation with family and friends will be held immediately following the service.  A memorial service with military honors for Lt. Colonel Moertl will also be held in Omaha, Nebraska on March 3rd, 2023.
