Harry S. Britt, Jr.

Mr. Harry Shore Britt, Jr. 82, of 108 Gibbs Rd., New Bern, (formerly of Clinton, NC) went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Born on October 5, 1941, in Sampson County, Harry was the son of the late Harry Shore Britt, Sr. and Katie Moore Britt. He was a graduate of N.C. State University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he went on to work as an Aerospace Engineer at Cherry Point for forty years. He then went on to establish his own mulch business with his son in 2002 named Mulch Plus in New Bern, NC which he operated for a number of years with him. When Harry wasn’t working, he loved to fish, especially bass fishing. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with Linda and going on yearly trips to the Outer Banks. More than anything else, he loved his family. He was a hard-working family man and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by a son, Larry Thomas Britt of New Bern; son-in-law, Kenneth Earl Mills of Vanceboro; granddaughter, Taylor Anne Sparapani, and husband Joseph; great-granddaughter, Layla Gray Sparapani, and brother, Thomas Alan Britt of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Linda Gray Spell Britt, and a daughter, Cathy Ann Britt Mills.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 29, at 2:00 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel, 301 McKoy St. Clinton, NC with Rev. Matthew Barefoot officiating. Burial will follow at the Spell-Tyndall Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00 PM.

The family would like to thank the staff at both Bayview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Carolina East Medical Center for their support.
