Gloria Dudley Hudson, 93, of Zebulon (formerly of Clinton) passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2022.
Mrs. Hudson was born on June 15, 1929 in Sampson County to Cary Judson Dudley and Laura Parker Dudley. She graduated from Taylors Bridge High School in 1947 and lived most of her life in Clinton, North Carolina. Gloria retired after working thirty-one years for, what was then, First Union Bank. In 2001 she moved to Zebulon to live with her daughter and son-in-law and soon became a member of Zebulon Baptist Church where she served, at one time, as President and Secretary of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flower garden. She was very talented and known for her handmade dolls and her delicious strawberry and peach jams. Most of all, she adored her family. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hudson Montague of Zebulon; granddaughter, Julie Montague Poovey (Dwayne Poovey) and a great-granddaughter, Kate Noel Davis, all of Raleigh. She is also survived by two brothers, Cary Earl Dudley of Stedman and Carl James Dudley of Clinton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Henry Franklin Hudson, granddaughter, Suzanne Montague Ridgill and her son-in-law, Pete Montague.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Matthis officiating. A visitation with family and friends will be held immediately before the service, beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Condolences may also be sent to the family by mail, 7401 Walnut Grove Lane, Zebulon, NC 27597.
Royal-Hall is honored to serve the Hudson Family.
