Mr. George William Worley, Jr. of 306 Blount St. passed away at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh on Sunday June 2, 2024.

Born in 1941 in Durham County, Mr. Worley was the son of the late George William Worley, Sr. and Lillian Jernigan Worley. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.  Having lived in various cities including Dallas and Miami, he returned to Clinton in 1984, where he was a self-employed businessman and a former member of the Clinton Rotary Club.  Throughout his life he enjoyed a variety of interests, including boating, fishing, traveling, reading, and history.  

A visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel from 6 til 8 PM and other times at his home in Clinton.  

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Sarah Jolitz Worley. Daughter, Barbara Louise Worley of Belmont, N.C. Son, George William “Bill” Worley, III of Clinton. Brother, Samuel Houston Worley of Raleigh.
