Mr. Gary Wayne Tew, 61 of 120 Southwood Dr., passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Southwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 2:00 P M at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Thomas Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born on September 29, 1961, in Sampson County, Gary was the son of the late Charles Oscar and Dorothy Melvin Tew. Gary worked for Quality Farm Equipment Company and was partial to John Deere green. He was an avid drummer, playing with the band "Southern Express" for many years.  He also loved to go fishing at the coast or on a boat in the waterway. He was a loving person and enjoyed spending time with his friends and especially his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessie Tew of Clinton; two sisters, Wanda Hunter of Clinton and Sandra Tew of Mt. Olive, as well as several nieces and nephews.   

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 til 8 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Vickie Hunter, 2299 Hunter Rd. Clinton, NC.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Gene Tew.
