Frank D. Weeks

Franklin “Frank” D. Weeks, 87, of Gordon Rd. passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 18, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Chubby Reiber officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be held prior to the service in the church sanctuary, from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm; and other times at his home.

Born on June 12, 1934 in Duplin County, Frank was the son of the late Katie Rose Odum and Gib Lee Weeks, and the widower of Myrna Thornton Weeks. He was a member of Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and a retired truck driver, driving for Lundy’s thirty years. He was a good-hearted, hard working man and always had a story to share or hug to give.  Frank loved to fish an watch New York Yankees baseball games. More than anything, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will definitely be missed.

Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory - two daughters, Sharon W. Sawyer (Daniel) of Houston, Texas; Linda W. Greene of Roseboro; three sisters: Aleen Southerland of Clinton, Coleen Westbrook of Dunn, Rose Gainey of Clinton; and one brother, Tom Weeks of Virginia. He was also blessed with three grandchildren:  Brandi Wallace (Nick), Chelsea Brewington (Daniel) and Amber Edge (Dustin); and six great-grandchildren: Skylar Wallace, Jaxon Wallace, Levi Harrell, Reid Hall, Peyton Edge and Landon Edge.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons: Tony Weeks and Craig Weeks; one grandson, Chad Sawyer; great-granddaughter, Addyson Edge; son-in-law, Thomas Greene; three sisters: Edna Jackson, Loreen Bradshaw, Claire Brock; and three brothers:  Woodrow Weeks, Roland Weeks and William Weeks.
