Mrs. Lillie "Faye" Byrd, 77, of 105 Heritage Place, Clinton, NC died at Wake Medical Center Tuesday, August 22, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
Born on January 22, 1946, in Sampson County, Faye was the daughter and youngest of three children of the late John Washington “J.W.” Jones and Lillie Margaret Pope Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Estelle Jones Barnette and brother, James Jones. She was the widow of Stanley Byrd and a member of Clinton Community Church. She was a graduate of Union HS and a graduate of Sampson Community College. Faye was the first of her family to graduate from college all while being a wife and a mother to her two boys.
She was married to Stanley Byrd, her love for 50 years. Their love for each other leaves a legacy for their children, Chris and David. Faye was the co-founder and President of Southern Heritage Realty Inc. She was so proud of the business and loved working in Real Estate for over thirty-five years. She was semi-retired at her death and the business legacy continues to thrive to this day which she was so proud of. She was known to her grandchildren and to many others that loved her simply as “Gabby”. Faye, more than anything other than her love for the Lord, loved spending time with her family. Her undying love for her family and friends was evident to all. The special relationships she had with each one of them brought her so much joy and love. She was so proud of each one of them.
Faye is survived by her son Chris Byrd and wife Miriam of Clinton, and son David Byrd and wife, Leslie of Clinton; four grandchildren: Joshua Byrd and wife, Jackie, Luke Byrd and wife, Summer, Rebekah Byrd and Andrew Byrd; her niece, who was like a daughter to her, Kim Schneiderhan. Also, other nieces, nephews and close friends that shared a relationship and loved Faye “Gabby”.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Clinton Community Church with Rev. Dwayne Dunning and Rev. Mark Fields officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary, beginning at 2:00 pm, and other times at her home. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
