Ms. Ellen Christine Wheeler Jones, 75, of 126 Lenora Lane, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held privately by the family at a later date.

Born on December 28, 1948, in Duplin County, Ellen was the daughter of the late Ransom Carl and Carrie Mae Whaley Wheeler, and was the widow of J.D. Jones. She loved to go to the thrift store in Roseboro and loved to collect salt and pepper shakers.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Carrie Marie Rico, and husband, Jose of Roseboro; three sons: Billy Jones, and wife, Denise of Roseboro, Leroy Jones of Roseboro, and John Jones of Harrells; one sister, Debbie Sheffield of Rose Hill; one brother, Charles Wheeler of Wallace; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ellen was preceded in death by her two sisters: Ruth Thompson, and Frances Hanns; and four Brothers: James Earl Wheeler, Bobby Wheeler, Ricky Wheeler, and Jimmy Wheeler.
