Ms. Elizabeth Tart Harrell, 78, of 2284 Boykin Bridge Rd., passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center of Wilmington with her family by her side.
Graveside services will be held privately Wednesday, August 16, at Rowan Baptist Church Cemetery with Mrs. Rhonda Harvell officiating.
Born in 1944 in Sampson County, Lib was the youngest daughter of the late Leslie and Lottie Smith Tart. Lib was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and attended as she was able. Lib was a homemaker, wife, beloved mother and grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
Lib is survived by her loving daughter, Wendy Spencer, and husband, Bill of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Rachel Spencer and Alex Spencer; sister, Bonnie Carter of Winston-Salem; brother, J.C. Tart of Goldsboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will forever remember her as “Aunt Liz”.
In addition to her parents, Lib was preceded in death by two brothers: L.E. Tart and Eugene Tart; three sisters: Madeline Vann, Dorothy Butler, and Shirley Gervais; and her husband of 20 years, Dallas Harrell.
