Mr. Edward Washington Bissette, 81 of 103 Greenwood Drive passed away peacefully on Saturday at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 25, at 2:00 P M at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray Ammons officiating. Burial will follow at the Clinton Cemetery.
Born in 1939 in Sampson County, Ed was the son of the late Eunice Washington and Martha Sanders Bissette. He was owner and operator of Royal Furniture Co. and a member of the First Baptist Church. Even though he never moved away from his beloved hometown, he traveled the globe with his wife of fifty-two years.
He is survived by his wife, April Royal Bissette, one son, Edward Douglass Bissette and wife Gina of Raleigh. He was most proud of his three grandsons, Edward Joseph Bissette, Jack Douglass Bissette and John Royal Bissette. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Sanders.
He will truly be missed by his family and numerous lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral beginning at 1:00 PM and other times at his home.
